This page describes what the current local-first beta actually does. It is not a legal policy, company filing, or guarantee of anonymity.
Local by default
Parsing, privacy scanning, topic analysis, draft generation, approvals, and clip export run in your browser. Conversation content is not uploaded to an AfterCast server by this beta.
State is stored in this browser’s localStorage under an AfterCast key. Use Reset to erase chat, drafts, approvals, and related local state on this device.
Identifier removal
- Obvious emails, phone numbers, street addresses, long number strings, social handles, and detected real names are replaced when possible.
- Perfect anonymity is not guaranteed. Review selected sources and the draft before approval.
- Redaction placeholders can still reveal that something was removed.
Approvals and consent
- Shareable episode and clip artifacts require both collaborators to approve the current revision.
- Approval is local pass-the-device confirmation in this browser.
- It is not verified remote identity, and it is not legally sufficient consent on its own.
Synthetic preview voices
Playback uses browser speech synthesis. Voices are synthetic previews, not finished premium podcast audio.
Publishing
This beta does not publicly publish shows, host RSS feeds, or create audience metrics. Show Page and Clip Studio are private previews until both people approve an exportable revision.
Feedback packets
Beta feedback packets exclude conversation text, transcripts, clip quotes, and aliases by default unless you type them into the notes field yourself.
